Info on Upcoming Auction and Several Updates!!!!

Well, it is almost that time again....What time you may ask?  AUCTION TIME!  The next auction will be helping Amazing Mikah's Family.  You can read more about them HERE and that auction starts on July 1st.  We are in need of lots of items still for that auction, so please email me with items and descriptions at redeeminghiddentreasures@gmail.com if you have anything to donate to the auction.

Next up is an update about the kids who are still waiting in that orphanage.....If you read HERE then you see we had a bit of a matching grant going for them.  We had who did not meet her portion and so we have not been able to bring the other three up to their amount yet.  If we can get Sabrina up to $250 in her account, then the other three children mentioned will also be bumped up.  Two new children were also just listed as available in that orphanage and I'd love to do something to bring awareness for them after this auction, so I'd love to get this awareness campaign for these six kids wrapped up.  :)

I also have an update on Brandon that we featured in our last auction!!!  His family just recently traveled for their first trip and were able to meet him.  He was loved on and knows he has a family coming.  They are back home and working hard to get him on this side of the ocean as quickly as possible!  Due to rules, his pictures can't be shared right now, but his smile still lights up a room when being loved by his mommy and daddy.  I can't wait till he is home and I can show you a picture of him in their arms!

Now it is time to make sure that Mikah....and other treasures being hidden away.....get the chance to meet their mommies and daddies too.

Ready to help that happen???

Thank you ALL for everything that you do to make that happen!

In Honor of Our Matthew: A Chance to Help the Hidden Treasures Without Families

This isn't the norm for Hidden Treasures.....BUT.....  It isn't the norm to have children leave for Jesus's arms SO .....

Balloon release after his funeral.

His headstone can't be placed until July,
but his grave is decorated for Memorial Day.

The fact is that it happens though, because of THAT PLACE....yet there are children trapped there, who unlike Matthew have NEVER KNOWN LOVE....  So while we wait for Mikah's family's auction, I want to use the opportunity to advocate for those who have no family coming....  I asked that in memory of Matthew people donate to the children who are still there, those who need hope still.  We have had some money donated and that isn't assigned to a specific child.  We've tried to determine how to use that money.....  The best we can figure is that it needs to help them all.

We want people to see THEM...and the money to help them.....  So we are going to try to get all of the children left waiting there to a $250 grant to help with their adoption.....  Plus you know that once chosen you have a COMMUNITY BEHIND THEM!  These children NEED OUT!

This is Zayne.  He is only a year old.....  You can read more about his needs and help him reach his $250 goal by clicking and donating HERE

This is Joseph and he is only 2 years old.  You can read more about his needs and help him reach his $250 goal by clicking and donating HERE

This is Sabrina and she is only 2 years old.  You can read more about her needs and help her reach her $250 goal by clicking and donating HERE

When  THE THOSE THREE CHILDREN have met their goals of $250 in their grants, THEN THE NEXT THREE CHILDREN in the same orphanage that hides these treasures.....will also be BUMPED up to $250 with the $300 that we have designated.   Those three children are:

Saleena is only 2 years old and you can read more about her and her needs

Paul is 3 years old and you can read more about his needs

Tiya is 8 years old and you can read more about her needs

I know many people have asked what they can do for our family.  When you lose a child/sibling/huge piece of your heart....well nothing changes it....  We know he is happy and healthy now though.  No one will ever hurt him again.  That horrible place will never even cross his mind again and he will never live with the beating that occurred in his birth home and the horrid neglect that then occurred as he lay for years without movement or treatment in that bed of that orphanage.  He was surrounded by love here for the time we had him and that is something that we want for these six kids in a family of their own.....  Please someone go for them.  Give them the life that Johnathan, Charity, and Keith are now enjoying and thriving in here....

In honor of Matthew help us get the grants of these kids to $250 and share their faces until the whole world sees....ESPECIALLY THEIR MAMAS!  (If anyone is interested in adopting ANY of these CHILDREN please email Shelley at shele337@gmail.com for more info)

****Things are super super busy here, so I'm going to set a goal of adding that $100 to those three accounts on June 1st!  Can we get the other three accounts to their goal by then????  Could we even exceed the goals by that date when I go to add the money????  I will do an update to this post then with the result!!!****

Meet Our Next Hidden Treasure and His Family.....Amazing Mikah's Family

This is Mikah, a 13-year-old sweetheart with bright eyes and a gorgeous smile! He is diagnosed with hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy, and has suffered neglect and malnutrition for most of his life. He was recently transferred to the same group home as Brandon (from the last auction), and his family is working hard to raise the funds for his adoption.  I actually met Mikah during my first trip to meet Matthew, Johnathan, and Charity.  He reached up to touch the face of the friend who was with me as we were going in from outside one day.  He was SO gentle.  The thought of him in that group home with the people who abused him for years takes me to a point of utter despair.  This is a child so full of innocence and joy...who had just gotten to the point of feeling safer and starting to grow and thrive.......

Mikah is being adopted by Jordan and Bethany Whiteley of Grand Rapids, MI. They have 2 biological children, Jimmy (5) and Katherine (3), and are thrilled to be adding Mikah to their family! Jordan and Bethany didn't have any plans for adoption of any kind until earlier this year, when they learned about Mikah and the awful situation he was in. They could not turn away from his sweet face and beautiful smile, and God guided their hearts to commit to adopting him!

Jordan and Bethany have experience caring for a child with medical and special needs, (their daughter Katherine spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital as a baby) so they feel well prepared to care for Mikah, and look forward to helping him reach his full potential. They cannot wait to finally get him home and make him a loved member of their family!

The auction for Mikah and his wonderful family will be next up in JULY!  (Yes, you read that right....July.... I've decided to wait till July for a couple of reasons. 1.  We are still trying to find our normal after Matthew left us for Jesus's arms and I don't know that I am going to have the time or brain power in just a couple weeks to put another one together.  2.  Doing one in June would mean that one is going to fall in December...while doing one in July makes it fall in November.....  November means items have time to ship for Christmas and December means that they are likely NOT going to make it.  I can tell you from the time it took to get payment from all the donors this time that I am going to lose my mind trying to pray that items arrive and it still won't happen for a December auction.  I value the sanity I have for my kids and try hard to make sure I'm doing my best for the auction too....November works MUCH better...)

We will have a July Auction for Mikah's family and then plan to also have auctions in September with plenty of time to ship items for fall, Halloween, or even Thanksgiving.  Then we will have another auction this year in November that will have plenty of time to ship wonderful Christmas items!  Then we will be back ready in January with time to ship for Valentine's items with plenty of time.....  That schedule just seems to give a much better allowance for shipping times for upcoming holiday items to be included among other things in our auctions!

Thanks so much everyone and watch for upcoming updates on the auction for MIKAH'S FAMILY!

Final Tally and Explanation of our Lateness

So sorry to be late with giving a final tally on this auction......  I will also have the info on June's family up for you very soon.  It seems that restarting the auction was a lot more complicated.  Many people assumed that I had the information from previous auctions and so it took everyone a little getting used to, in that I had to request all those addresses again that many were used to the Amy already having.  That took some extra time.

Our sweet Matthew also left our arms for Jesus's arms on the 18th of April.  His time in Pleven left him with too much neglect and the beating in his birth home had been too severe when he was 4 years old....7 years later that old blood was just not able to be cleaned out of his head so all we were able to do was love him and keep him comfortable as he left for a place of eternal comfort.  He will never again be in pain now, but we are definitely missing him here.

We wanted to keep things going as best we could, because his time there only reminds us of how much the children need out of that place......

For that reason we are thrilled to announce that between the PayPal donations and an offline donation made by the auction participants the total for the Hidden Treasures Auction this time was $2726 and Brandon's family is ready financially to go just waiting on a date for trip #1!!

Preliminary Total and Request

So we have a "Preliminary Total" of $1,902 for this auction which is HUGE and we are so very thankful for everyone's help!!!!  This is going to put Brandon's family within just hundred dollars of being fully funded for their adoption.  :)  Every adoptive family knows how big that is and what a relief it is.  They will be able to raise the rest of the funds without worrying about it so much because of the generosity.  We'll have a "final total" later, since donors often add a few extra dollars when they round up as they donate.  Its just always amazing to me what God's people can do when they come together to change lives!!  I can't wait to post an update of him when he lands and he and Reed are HOME.  I will be at that airport homecoming personally and will be sure to update everyone since they live locally and they have to let me.  ;)  For now all I have is a picture of his big smile that I know he'd give if he knew all the love that has poured out for him this past seven days!

****I do have one request as I'm continuing to notify bidders, IF you did not email the auction with the name you were bidding under PLEASE go ahead and do so still.  It is much harder to try to track down the bidders without that email.  It slows down the process and makes it where I'm bouncing between Facebook and email lists and begging others if they know.  Some of these names I "know", but I "know" multiple people by that name and I'm trying to guess which one it may be.  If you know me, then you know I have a house full of kids, so you don't want me to be crazier, right?  ;)

Thanks everyone!  <3

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thank you so much for making this auction such a great start back for Hidden Treasures and a big success for Brandon and his family.  I will be contacting winners and giving payment information.  Then I will post again when all the payments come in with a final total as well!
